She wore a mermaid Did it cause a sensation in its first weekend? With Box-office Mojo’s first estimates starting at $95.5 million, we can say it’s a successful launch that will take full advantage of this long weekend in the US. It’s certainly lower than Top Gun Maverick’s run a year ago, but the public is certainly ready for this new live-action version of The Little Mermaid.
compared to FastXReleased last week, it grossed $67 million (in the US alone) in its first opening weekend. For this four-day weekend, the film is second only to The Little Mermaid with an additional $23 million.
The action film is expected to cross the $500 million mark at the international box office this weekend, making it the third highest grosser of the year worldwide.
Finally, we meet on the third step of the podium Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. The film grosses an additional $19.9 million for a total of nearly $300 million ($299,425,817 to be exact).
