It is not true that the images of the security cameras attest that the federal deputies Gleisi Hoffmann (PT-PR) and Lindbergh Farias (PT-RJ) and the senator Randolfe Rodrigues (without party-AP) were present at Palazzo Planalto while the acts January 8 scammers. The online newspapers have shared a video showing the arrival of politicians linked to the Lula (PT) government at Palazzo Planalto on January 8 with a cut that makes it impossible for users to see the recording time. The purpose of the pieces is to make believe (see below) that members of the government were at the location when protesters destroyed the headquarters of the Three Powers, which is not true.

The images have been recorded at 8.40pm and shows the moment when federal deputies Gleisi Hoffmann and Lindbergh Farias and Senator Randolfe Rodrigues arrive on the third floor of the Planalto Palace to verify the destruction caused by the invaders. There is no indication that any of these politicians participated in Sunday’s attack.

Second explained by Ai Fatti abovevandalism began around 3pm that Sunday and lasted until 5:45pm. Images transmitted by CNN Brazil at 18:16 show that the protesters had already been expelled from the inner area. By the time the politicians arrived on the scene, the invasion was over.

In April, misinformation also circulated on the networks that President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) would have been registered in Palazzo Planalto as the invaders sacked the headquarters of the Three Powers. Like the deputies, the petista arrived in Planalto after the end of acts of vandalism, around 21:30.
