After three weeks of broadcasting, the series Les Randonneuses, hosted by Clémentine Cellarie, Alix Poisson, Camille Chameau, Claire Bichra, Josephine de Mea and Tifain Daviot, will now come to an end this Monday, May 29 at 9:10pm on TF1.
With Noéme’s suicide attempt, the rapprochement of Sarah and Julien (Maxanne Dunnett-Favell), or even the unexpected face-to-face between Karen and Bear in the middle of the night, the rise of the six “chemo friends” was marked. Will the center of the series reach its end without problems?
That’s what viewers who were blown away by this new series will find out by watching the last two episodes of Les Randonneuses tonight.
When it aired on May 15, Les Randonneuses attracted an average of 4.27 million viewers for its first two episodes, or 21.3% of the public and 23.5% of women in charge of purchasing. Good points that were confirmed on D+7 (5.5 million curious people before the first episode, repeat), but also in week 2, 4.08 million believers gathered before episodes 3 and 4.
So with this good audience, especially the targeted ones, will Page One order a second season and thus follow the adventures of Sarah, Noemi, Patty, Karen, Morgan and Valerie?
There is currently no Season 2 confirmed for Les Randoneuses
Les Randonneuses was always considered as a mini-series by TF1 and production. The final episode, titled “Valerie,” which the public will be able to discover airing this Monday, offers a true ending to the series and the stories of these six women. Very poignant and very successful with the key to the final scene.
Season 2 is therefore never seriously considered, and as far as we know, no sequels are being considered on the TF1 side.
When asked about a potential Season 2 at Series Mania last March, producer and co-creator Fanny Rydberger told us that she was finding it difficult to flesh out the story of Noemi, Patty, Sara and the others. The series, without deviating from the main topic of the story.
“Even if we obviously want to find these characters, it’s hard to draw a cancer thread, it’s not easy. It’s a mini-series because it’s a part of life that we’re telling. We have to find another idea, but at the moment I’m not thinking about it at all”.
“So no, a second season is not planned. But of course if the series is a huge audience success on TF1 and if there is an expectation and a demand to continue to develop these women on screen, maybe we can find a solution.”Continued our microphone Fanny Rydberger, who also owes us the TV series Lycée Toulouse-Lautrec, the second season of which will start shooting soon.
However, considering the audience, couldn’t another season with new characters and a new cast be considered? Or the same cast but with a different series, like the American Horror Story anthology series, which sees some of its cast returning from one season to the next in different roles each time?
“Anthology, I thought”Fanny Rydberger admits. “Once it would be interesting”. It remains to be seen if the success of Les Randonneuses actually prompts the channel to continue the adventure, in one form or another. The case will follow.
