Without Lucas Piton, del Vasco, Italy is summoned to the League of Nations

This Monday, the Italy coach, Roberto Mancini, announced the call-up of the team for the dispute in the Final Four of the League of Nations. Pre-called up, left-back Lucas Piton, del Vasco, was left out.

One of the surprises on the list was the absence of Inter players. The reason is the Champions League final, between Manchester City and Inter, on June 10, close to the semi-final and final of the European selection tournament. Thus Bastoni, Barella and Dimarco, constant presences in the Azzurra, were not summoned by the commander.

Other absences from the list are Tonali, from Milan, and Fagioli, from Juventus, both for the under-21 European Championship, played from 21 June to 8 July. Despite Snape’s defeat, an old acquaintance of Brazilian football has been called up: former São Paulo defender Rafael Toloi.

The last four of the League of Nations will be hosted in the Netherlands. In the semifinals, Italy will face Spain on the 15th, at 15:45 (Brasilia time), at the De Grolsch Veste. If he advances, he will fight for the title against the winner of Croatia and the Netherlands, a match scheduled for the next 14th, simultaneously, at De Kuip.

In its last participation, Mancini’s team was eliminated at this stage of the tournament by Spain. In addition to the loss, the team went on a 37-game unbeaten run at home.
