Often a short film turns out to be no less difficult to stage than a big movie. So, to create a new short film called “Too Good Anna”, three bright women of Russian cinema teamed up:director and screenwriter Yana KlimovaYusupov, actress Agata Muceniece and actress and producer Renata Piotrowski. By the way, Agatha and Renata played the main roles in the film.
According to the creators, this is a dramatic story of a married couple, which turns into a black comedy in the course of the plot, and then acquires the features of a detective. There will be betrayal, and murder, and emotions that the viewer is waiting for. Yana Klimova-Yusupova suggests that the short film has every chance of becoming a full-fledged mini-series for online streaming platforms.

“Too good Anna” — This is a dramatic story with elements of black comedy. This is a story about choice: “Can I commit a crime if I morally feel that I can?“. We wanted to make visually fresh, at the same time, of course, dramatically valuable cinema that meets the highest international trends, – says Klimova. – In the short film that we filmed, there are only two people in the frame: Renata Piotrowski as too good Anna and Agata Muceniece as mistress ee husband. But in a short phase, destinies are revealed to us — and we wonder which one of them (and from us) on really good?
Not so long ago, at one of the domestic festivals, the notorious director admitted: women have been ruling the cinema lately! And it is impossible to argue with this: there are more and more talented women screenwriters and women directors, and they are ready to compete with men in a fair competition, – explains Renata Piotrowski. – However, our short film “Too Good Anna” is definitely not about a painful struggle with men, the team formed easily, the shooting went in one breath – and the story turned out to be really cool and catchy – and with great potential. And my heroine will make you think about whether the world can be divided into black and white – and whether we always have an unambiguously good or unambiguously bad choice.
Despite our strong friendship, Yana became a great discovery for me in the project “Common Man”. And now Renata has become a discovery for me – before, our friendship with her did not collide foreheads on the set. Therefore, undoubtedly, the whole project was a great revelation for me. And I’m really happy and I think that we are lucky that we finally got together in one tandem with Yana. I saw what her creative pursuits turn into. It is always art, with a whisper, with some second meaning, – Muceniece shares his impressions.
