LuPone will play Lilia Calderu in the series, the witch mother of Agatha (Kathryn Hahn) and keeper of the Book of Cagliostro, which has been in the family for generations. She eventually becomes Doctor Strange’s ally.

It’s worth mentioning that the Book of Cagliostro has been part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) canon for a few years now. Antiquity has already been shown in the scenes of Doctor Strange (2016) — is the book that Kaecilius (Mads Mikkelsen) studies to get in touch with Dormammu.

Agatha: Coven of Chaos will focus on the wicked witch Agatha Harkness, responsible for keeping Wanda Maximoff, Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen), imprisoned in a parallel world in Wanda Vision. The character was so successful that it granted Hahn a solo production.

While the entire storyline of the series is in strict secrecy, rumors suggest the plot will follow shortly after the events of Wanda Vision, in the city of Westview. The spinoff doesn’t yet have an exact release date on Disney+, but info points to a 2023 date.
