The program brought together the innovations exhibited by more than 20 suppliers in a Technical Exhibition, as well as a sequence of conferences, conducted by representatives of the Winery and the sector, which addressed relevant topics for good viticultural practices and also agri-food trends .

Salton has always looked for initiatives that make the cultivation of grapes increasingly sustainable and, therefore, seeks to reduce the environmental impact of the activity, with projects that permeate all the links of its production chain. And the Cycles & Vineyards it is one of the initiatives that forms its own network, also bringing the company closer to the community.

“The purpose of this meeting is to integrate with the subjects of the region, in addition to the farmers, to update them on the news of the sector in order to make them more competitive and also help them find ways to improve the quality of the wines and sparkling wines produced”, explained Maurício Salton, CEO of Salton. In the lesson”Results and prospects of Salton Winery“, commanded by the CEO, the situations and challenges that producers face on a daily basis and that require some time to be incorporated into the production culture were addressed. In addition, Maurício commented on the transparency and closeness of Salton with the producers to exploit regional production. As regards the rural producer, Ivanio Bortoncelo, present at the event, “it is necessary to innovate and work more and more with advanced techniques to offer a better and quality product”.

Agri-food prospects, management of agricultural production costs and seasonal labor recruitment were other topics addressed by the specialists. During the event, a booklet on good social practices in the countryside was delivered to around 300 rural producers present. The booklet addresses relevant topics that need to be considered in employment relationships, such as human rights and labor rights, as well as reinforcing the importance of inspections and audits on these items.

Technology and innovation are present at the Salone della Tecnica

More than 20 brands shared and discussed news, trends and updates for the wine sector at the Technical Exhibition in Cycles & Vineyards. Grape producers have known closely the technologies that bring more agility, economy and, of course, sustainability in vineyard management.

The commercial director of RL Tekno Soluções, Renato Pasin, presented the use of drones for spraying and highlighted the main advantages of the equipment. “We have significant savings in water use as, before, the farmer ended up using around 500-600 liters of water per hectare. With the drone, the usage is reduced to 30-40 liters per hectare,” he said. he explained.

According to the director, the rural producer also saves up to 30 minutes of labor per hectare by adhering to this type of equipment, as well as realizing better soil conservation. “What we see and makes us very happy is that the use of this type of technology ends up preventing the rural exodus, as children go back to the countryside to help their parents work with these new technologies,” explains Pasin.

Innovation in agriculture was also presented by the startup Jahde Tecnologia with the Crops – Disease Monitoring System case. Developed in collaboration with Embrapa Grape and Wine, it is a computerized system that uses artificial intelligence to help winemakers monitor and prevent downy mildew, one of the most challenging diseases for viticulture. “With personalized daily alerts, based on weather conditions and property characteristics, Crops promotes more sustainable management, resource conservation and reduced exposure to pesticides, benefiting the health of workers, consumers and the environment,” said the administrative manager Daniela Sikacz. The technology is already used by more than 100 winegrowers in Serra and Campanha Gaúchas, as well as in Paraná.

The event Cycles & Vineyards: Sowing Sustainability it has been held for 13 years. first named Salton Field Day, Since last year, the initiative has been maintained in a different format, but with the same objective: to train the local workforce, with relevant information on grape cultivation in all its phases, with the strengthening of ESG practices.
