Justice arrests suspects in actor Jeff Machado’s death

Jeff’s family spoke shortly after the decision

Bruno Rodrigues and Jeander Vinícius da Silva Bragathe two men suspected of killing actor Jeffeson Machado, had their arrest decreed this Thursday, 1. The decision by the Court of Justice of Rio de Janeiro responded to a request by the State Attorney’s Office, which had spoken hours earlier.

In the request of the MPRJ, signed by the Public Prosecutor Sauvei Lai, the crime was premeditated by Bruno, with the help of Jander.

“The now indicted are suspected of having committed the crimes of murder and concealment of the body against Jefferson, taking advantage of the moment in which they had sexual relations with the victim to implement a criminal plan, strangling her and placing her body in a trunk, to then hide it in the land of the property rented by Bruno, where they buried it and cemented it about two meters deep,” reads the arrest warrant.

Jeff Machado’s family spoke, through the attorneys handling the case, shortly after the jail decision. In a note, they said they welcomed the news “with satisfaction”.

“So far there have been 117 days of pain and sadness on the part of the family, but always with hope, believing in the police and in the progress of the investigation”, reads the statement.

The lawyers add that they are awaiting the end of the investigation and in any case believe that new classifications of other crimes that would have been committed by the suspects should be analysed.
