The destination is Denmark, its blue landscapes and its green plains. It is here that we meet Oliver, a young fisherman with a hidden talent who is spotted by a music producer. She must decide if she’s ready to accept fame… but also find love.
A Beautiful Life is a pleasant surprise if you like slow and contemplative movies where the action isn’t necessarily the main concern. With the velvety voice of Danish singer Christopher (whom you may know), let’s groove to the rhythm of his gentle ballads, which he interprets in English.
The feature film directed by Mehdi Avaz does not necessarily revolutionize the genre, but it is made with great humility and honesty. Its duration, only 1h30, is also a good argument for those looking for a short program to watch in the evening. After mini-series The Nurse and The Weird Copenhagen Cowboy in recent months, Denmark prove once again that they know how to have fun.
