US box office: Spider-Verse’s biggest start of the year?

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse has a successful opening day in the US: The film grossed $51.7 million at the US box office on Friday in 4,313 theaters. The original 2018 film, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, opened with $35 million in the United States, before earning $190 million at the global box office.
