Tonight on TV: One of the jewels of New Hollywood

Released in 1975, Three Days of the Condor is one of the flagship films of New Hollywood. This American cinematic movement, largely influenced by European modernism (French New Wave and Italian Neorealism), is particularly characterized by radical representations of previously taboo subjects such as the corruption of political power, sexuality, and violence.

Adapted from the novel by James Grady, Six days of the condorThe plot of which the screenwriters changed slightly to enhance its political aspect, the feature film is in line with thrillers because of the murder and the secret conversation that reflects the climate of paranoia caused by the Watergate scandal in the United States.

Sidney Pollack directs behind the camera for their fourth collaboration, starring Robert Redford. The latter follows Joseph Turner, a secret agent responsible for leaking CIA methods, who is soon involved in the murders of all his colleagues. In a race against time to shed light on this tragedy, he meets Cathy Hale (Faye Dunaway), a freelance photographer who agrees to help him investigate.
