The Flash hasn’t hit theaters yet, but the script for a sequel is ready. According to Variety, screenwriter David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick, who worked on Aquaman, already has text ready for the second Scarlet Speedster film.
According to information on the site, the script features Michael Keaton as Batman and Sasha Calle as Supergirl, who are in the first feature film. However, Ezra Miller would not be confirmed to star within the script.
Despite this, there’s no guarantee that The Flash 2 will go off paper. Warner Bros hasn’t given its approval yet and the decision will depend a lot on the box office performance of the first film, which will hit Brazilian theaters on June 15th.
In a recent interview with The Discourse podcast, director Andy Muschietti said he hopes to have Ezra if a sequel is confirmed. “I don’t think there’s anyone else who can play this character as well as he does. The other plays are great, but this particular vision… Ezra just stood out playing him… He feels like a character that was made for Ezra.
What you need to know about The Flash?
In the film, Barry travels to an alternate world, where his mother was not killed, to prevent her death. In doing so, he is trapped in another reality where there are no superheroes. The main timeline Barry must team up with an otherworldly Barry, as well as the Kryptonian superheroine Supergirl, played by Sasha Calle, to stop General Zod, played by Michael Shannon.
If all those alternate universe superheroes aren’t enough, The Flash will also feature two different Batmans. Michael Keaton’s Batman and Ben Affleck’s Batman will appear in the film. Affleck’s Batman and Miller’s Flash first met in 2016’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and both made cameos in Suicide Squad.
The cast also includes Ron Livingston and Maribel Verdú as Barry’s parents, Kiersey Clemons as Iris West, and Aquaman actor Temuera Morrison returns as Thomas Curry, Aquaman’s father. The Flash is directed by Andy Muschietti, director of the It horror films.
The Flash has finally come out of DC’s oven after being delayed a few times due to the global crisis that arose with the pandemic and the controversy that has surrounded Miller, which has caused uncertainty over whether production will continue. The original launch was scheduled for November 2022.
The postscript for The Flash 2 is ready even before the release of 1 which first appeared in Olhar Digital.
