It’s official, the Sanderson witches are back: Abracadabra 3 has been confirmed by Disney, according to a New York Times report. The information was given by none other than Sean Bailey, president of Walt Disney Pictures.
Without many details, Bailey only confirmed that a third sister film is in the works. Released in 2022, Abracadabra 2 hit theaters after a nearly 30-year hiatus and recorded the biggest debut for a film in Disney+ history, one likely reason why the studio is betting on another sequel.
For those who watched the feature, however, you must have understood that the final scenes actually made the continuation intentions clear. The question now is will the new sequel again have the iconic Winifred (Bette Midler), Sarah (Sarah Jessica Parker) and Mary (Kathy Najimy) return or will they give the franchise another ride with the new trio of characters – Becca ( Whitney Peak), Cassie (Lilia Buckingham) and Izzy (Belissa Escobedo)?

Abracadabra was originally released in 1993 and became one of the most beloved cult classics of the era by children and adults alike, impacting generations with its story, effects and soundtrack. In Brazil, the film has long been a darling of Rede Globo’s “Sessão da Tarde” block.
