Xiaomi 14 Pro is expected to get a new camera with support for up to 5x optical zoom, while Xiaomi 14 would be at 3.9x

A Xiaomi it is expected to unveil its new top-of-the-line devices in a few months, and new information from Digital Chat Station’s profile has indicated what the devices’ camera sets should look like. Both the Xiaomi 14 and 14 Pro are expected to get periscope lenses as the main novelties, with a longer range zoom.

According to the leaker, the Xiaomi 14 Pro will come with up to 5x optical zoom, with a focal length of 115mm. These are closer numbers than the Xiaomi 13 Ultra, but they still don’t reach the level of the Galaxy S23 Ultra with its 10x optical zoom.

In turn, the Xiaomi 14 could have a different periscope, with a 3.9x zoom and a focal length of 90mm. For comparison purposes, the Xiaomi 13 it reaches magnification levels between 0.6x and 3.2x.

No new information about the sensors implemented in the devices has been released. However, previous rumors have already shown that the Xiaomi 14 Pro it is expected to carry three 50MP components on the back, including the main, ultrawide and telephoto cameras.

It has also been claimed that the smartphone’s front facing camera can support 4K resolution video recording which is an improvement over the Xiaomi 13Pro which surprisingly is still limited to 1080p/30.

In addition to the cameras, previous reports also indicated that the Xiaomi 14 Pro could arrive in two different versions, with a flat screen or with curved edges.

Both variants are expected to have 5,000mAh batteries, with support for 120W charging. This could be a differential of the device compared to the standard Xiaomi 14, which is expected to support 90W charging.

The serial numbers of the devices have already been revealed, with the sequences 23127PN0CC and 23127PN0CG for the Xiaomi 14, and 23116PN5BC and 23116PN5BG for the Pro model. In practice, these codes reveal some information on the availability of the devices.

The start of the sequels (2311 and 2312) reiterates that the devices are to be shown in the final months of 2023, on a similar schedule to previous years. The presentation is scheduled for the month of November, after the arrival of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in October.

Also, the letter G at the end of the code indicates the presence of global versions of devices. As has happened in previous generations, smartphones must be launched in China first, and then reach more countries.
