Tired of trailers that reveal too much about a movie’s plot and leave you with no surprises? Good news: you will enjoy the family melodrama Love Life. Indeed, in the first pictures of the feature film presented in official competition at the Venice Film Festival in 2022, there is not too much to say or show!

“When I make a film, I always hope to be able to bring to the screen a sense of surprise that is equal to the unpredictability of our existence.” explains Japanese filmmaker Koji Fukada, who owes us Harmonium and the diptych Follow me, I’ll run away / Run away, I’ll follow you.
His new drama tells the story of Taeko, who lives with her husband Jiro and son Keita across the street from her mother-in-law. When she discovers the existence of her husband’s ex-fiancée, Keita’s biological father reappears. It’s the start of a brutal game of musical chairs from which no one will come out unscathed… but the heart of the story will be revealed on the big screen from June 14th, as its trailer makes clear and its screening.

Return of Hanabi Seasons
Japanese cinema, and more specifically director Koji Fukada, is in the spotlight at the Les Saisons Hanabi Printemps 2023 festival. While the filmmaker prepares to present Love Life to the public, this and six other Japanese films should be available exclusively in participating theaters. From May 31 everywhere in France and from June 7 in Paris.
Among the feature films shown, the audience will have the opportunity to see La Comédie Humaine, the director’s first film, which has not yet been released. But also the beauty of the gesture, dates in Tokyo, the man, soon or like Monday: comedy, drama, thriller… there is something for everyone.
