A lottery shop in São José dos Campos, in the interior of São Paulo, kept working after a the man dies at the scene, last Friday, 5. The scene was filmed by a resident of the city, who shows the victim’s corpse covered next to the service queue.
The case occurred around 2 pm, in the Jardim América neighborhood, in Lotérica Paraíso. “This is for you to learn that the business will never stop. I’m not believing it. There’s a body there, and the lottery works normally. […] How absurd,” the woman says as she films the place.
In the image it is possible to see the body lying on the ground, covered by a thermal blanket, while several people wait in line next to it. Customers observe the scene.
According to the portal R7, the man fell ill while waiting in line to be seen, and ended up dying. The Mobile Emergency Service (Samu) was activated, but when he arrived he was already dead. The team discovered that he had a sudden illness.
In a note to Terra, Caixa Econômica Federal regretted the incident and sympathized with the family. Also according to the bank, the situation is determined with the entrepreneur of the lottery. The report also asked the Public Security Secretariat (SSP) about the event, but there was no response.
