In the early hours of this Wednesday (7), two murders took place in the Sarandi and Rubem Berta neighborhoods, in the northern area of ​​Porto Alegre. According to initial information from the 3rd Homicide and Personal Protection Commissioner, both crimes are linked to drug trafficking, arousing the concern of the authorities and residents of the region.




In Sarandi, at around 00:15, a couple in a black Classic Sedan vehicle fired eight shots, using a 9mm pistol, at a man who was inside a black Gol. The victim was identified as Jonata Machado, 30, known as ‘Uncle Bita’. According to the investigation, he had a criminal record for involvement in a criminal organization, theft, receiving stolen goods and illegal carrying of weapons, being associated with a faction originating from the Bom Jesus neighborhood, in the east.

In Rubem Berta, near the warehouse of the Manlec store, on Avenida Baltazar de Oliveira, a 23-year-old woman and her partner, Fernando Aniceto da Silva, 25, were subjected to about 30 shots fired by two men during an invasion . The woman was shot in the right leg and survived, but Fernando could not resist his wounds and died on the spot. Both had no criminal records.

In addition to the murders, a man was stabbed during an argument with his partner, in rua Wolfram Matzler, in the Rubem Berta district. The individual remains hospitalized in serious condition at the Cristo Redentore hospital.
