HBO Max announced Wednesday that “Our Flag Means Death” has been renewed for a second season. The comedy series with Taika Waititi and Rhys Darby tells the story of Stede Bonnet, a rich man who abandons his family to become a pirate.

Created by David Jenkins, “Our Flag Is Death” isn’t just about pirate jokes, the series also has a healthy dose of romance and emotion, as well as tackling topics like toxic masculinity and LGBTQIA + portrayal.

In addition to the above names, the show also features Nathan Foad, Samson Kayo, Vico Ortiz, Ewen Bremner, Joel Fry, Matt Maher, Kristian Nairn, Con O’Neill, Guz Khan, David Fane, Rory Kinnear, Samba Schutt, Nat Faxon, Fred Armisen and Leslie Jones.
“We felt that the show was special while we were making it, but the open arms embrace of Revenge’s fans makes the arrival of a second season even sweeter. Thanks to our HBO Max team, our executive producers and our enthusiastic audience for making another journey into this world possible, ”added Jenkins.
The first season of “Our Banner Is Death” premiered on March 3 on HBO Max, and despite being renewed for a second season, the sequel has not yet received a release window.
