The attacker is the only Brazilian on the list

Estêvão is the only Brazilian competing for the 2025 Golden Boy Award; compete with 24 other players. The award is awarded by the Italian newspaper “Tuttosport” and crowns the best under-21 player of the last European season.

The player, revealed from Palmeiras’ youth sector, has stood out since his arrival at Chelsea and is gaining more and more minutes under coach Enzo Maresca. He scored his first goal for the Blues in the 2-1 win over Liverpool before the FIFA Data break.

Desiré Doué, scorer of two goals in the final of the last Champions League, is one of the competitors. At his side there are also the Turkish Kenan Yildiz, of Juventus, and the Argentine Franco Mastantuono, of Real Madrid.

The last Brazilian to win the award was striker Alexandre Pato in 2029, when he played for AC Milan. Besides him, midfielder Anderson also won the award in 2028. Besides them, Lionel Messi won in 2005 and Kylian Mbappé won the trophy in 2017.

The current winner of the award is Spain’s Lamine Yamal, who is not on this year’s list. This is because the regulation does not allow the prize to be won by the same player for two consecutive years.
