Certain scenes from Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom were originally planned to appear in Creed of the Lost Ark, the first part of the saga. Thus, the scene of the cart race in the mine was originally intended to be one of the main sequences of the first film.

The birth of classification

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom was the first feature film to be rated PG-13 by the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA). In this case, this classification indicates that some scenes of the film may shock children under the age of thirteen and therefore they are strongly advised to be accompanied by their parents.
