Test your knowledge of Batman movies. By this we mean feature films in which the Dark Knight is the main character and the “solo” character, thus excluding Batman V Superman, but includes films with Robin, a secondary character.
The Batman, played by Robert Pattinson, is currently a movie hit and features well-known characters such as Commissar Gordon, Riddler, The Female Cat or Carmine Falcone. If they were so familiar, it’s the merit of the Batman animated series, but also the “live” feature films that cinema has been offering since 1989.
Technically, Batman appeared on the screen for the first time in the series (the film was divided into episodes and released in cinemas) released in 1943. The comics were only four years old at the time. Six years later, in 1949, another TV series came out, along with another actor, but the success was by no means over.
It was only in the 1960s that he became a mainstream character, thanks to a television format and three seasons of Batman, starring Adam West and Bert Ward. First of all, the comic book world is very relevant, especially with the words in the picture when Batman hits the bad guys.
1966 will also feature a Batman feature film, again starring West and Ward, and an iconic villainous comic book such as Catwoman, Riddler, Penguin, and Joker.
But in reality, with Tim Burton’s Batman movie, the character moves into a new era, an era of blockbusters and their planetary success. The world of the Dark Knight is then tinted with a Gothic aesthetic that, if it is weakened over time, adds to the darkness that will never leave this world.
Joel Schumacher’s two films (Batman Forever and Batman and Robin) will try to return to the light tone and regain the main tone of the 60s series, but will never achieve conviction after viewers are mostly accustomed to Tim Burton’s films.
The Christopher Nolan trilogy chooses total realism and perpetual darkness, where Matt Reeves chose the same themes as Batman, but at the center of the story put more the city of Gotham and Bruce Wayne, which was partly aside. From the Dark Knight and his sequel.
