Paramount+, the string that emits ‘The Good Fight‘ in the US, has confirmed that the series will end with its upcoming sixth season.
That means Christine Baransi says goodbye to attorney Diane Lockhartwhom he has played for 13 years.
The TV network confirmed the show’s renewal for a sixth season last year, but Emmy-nominated drama won’t see a seventh season.
“We felt like we could end the show with a bangsaid the showrunner robert king via Variety. “That’s better than getting to another season that we’re struggling to find the plot for. We thought season six could take us off the stage in a pretty big way.”
The legal drama, which is a spin-off and sequel to ‘The Good Wife,’ first aired in 2017 and follows the life of Lockhart (Christine Baransky) while getting a job at a new law firm.
It was created by the husband and wife showrunner team, Michelle and Robert Kingafter the success of his previous creation, ‘The Good Wife‘.
executive producer Ridley Scott said: “In this day and age, where long runs are more the exception than the norm and where discerning audiences have so many options for quality content, The success and longevity of these series is a testament to how excellent both shows were.“.
It was previously announced that ‘The Good Wife’ character Eli Gold will return to the franchise, with actor Alan Cumming ready to return in season 6 of ‘The Good Fight’.
Cummings played Peter Florrick’s chief of staff in the seven-season original series.
