Hang Them High and Short is an American Western released on July 31, 1968 in the United States, directed by Ted Post and starring Clint Eastwood. And obviously, the latter has deliberately chosen a visual touch on his previous westerns directed by Sergio Leone.
In the film, Jed Cooper (Eastwood) is wrongly accused of stealing cattle and is lynched by a group of men. Miraculously saved from death, he was appointed Judge Fenton’s marshal. The magistrate instructs him to bring back alive the men responsible for this barbarity, so that they may be tried in a good and proper manner.
Eastwood meets the director there Ted Postwhich he would find a few years later for Magnum Force (1973), the second installment of The Adventures of Inspector Harry (1971).
In Revenge , Jed Cooper apparently owns a gun, and the belt that houses that gun is actually… the one from Sergio Leone’s Dollar Trilogy that Eastwood kept as a kind of wallet. happiness
Jed Cooper and the man with no name
“Clint” has already worn the belt in the final seasons of Rawhide, the series he debuted in, and while filming in Italy: A Handful of Dollars, and A Few More Dollars, and The Good, the Bad and the Crook. After returning to the United States, he would wear it again in several Westerns produced by Universal, including Joe Kidd, Sierra Torrid, and The Man from the Plains, his first feature.

Then, once that first run is over, even though he goes on to make other westerns like Josey Wales, Outlaw, Pale Rider or Merciless, the belt will never fit the actor again. No doubt it is still in his possession as a relic of the now distant past and a lucky charm that accompanied his first decade of stardom.
