2021 was somewhat of a special year for publisher Bethesda, which previously went it alone at E3 with its own conference to announce its lineup of upcoming titles. The publisher, acquired by Microsoft for $7.5 billion, logically introduced a line with the Xbox maker in 2021 and 2022.
What about this year? The exercise, which lasted 2 hours, was of a solid level, even if we can still worry about a little too much announcements in CGI with a large reinforcement of the trailer than the gameplay, sometimes shown very sparingly. We would also appreciate some images of the Indiana Jones game announced by Bethesda for fans in January 2021. A short chapter on the worldwide release of Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny would be quite welcome.
Starfield
If ever there was a presentation you absolutely shouldn’t miss because the stakes are huge, this was it Starfield. First announced in 2021, the game whetted their appetites and put stars in their eyes.
It should also be said that the title should be marked in white stone: this is indeed the first new world created by Bethesda Game Studios in 25 years. In this next generation RPG, – which the publisher himself describes as “Han Solo Simulator” – You will be able to create your desired character and explore the world in an open world.
Todd Howard, Bethesda’s executive producer, also declined Telegram that for him “Starfield was like NASA meets Indiana Jones meets The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen”. We weren’t necessarily much more advanced in that regard. But it did at least give an idea of the desired spirit for the game.
Let’s be honest: the images released yesterday were pretty incredible, with the prospect of exploring the game’s world as hypnotic as it is fascinating.
story Starfield Set in 2330. Humanity has ventured beyond our solar system to settle new planets and explore space. Players will join Constellation, the newest group of space explorers searching for rare artifacts across the galaxy, and embark on a vast exploration of space in Bethesda Game’s biggest and most ambitious game studio to date.
During this journey, players will take part in the adventures of different factions; piloting and customizing your own ship; Explore planets and discover their resources, fauna and flora; Build outposts and master an upgraded combat system to defeat all kinds of threats.
In the end, the wait won’t be too long: barring a possible delay, the game will be released on September 6 and will be Xbox Series X | S and PC exclusive.
Star Wars Outlaws
A minor reversal sequence. According to information reported by the Wired site in January 2021, publisher Ubisoft was teaming up with Lucasfilm Games to create a new open world based on the Star Wars universe.
It is thus the first game based on the Star Wars franchise to be developed outside of publisher Electronic Arts, which acquired the rights to use the license on the video game side from Disney for ten years.
But after this announcement, radio silence. Until yesterday’s Microsoft conference, during which the game and its name were revealed: star wars outlaws, Developed by Massive Entertainment. A studio well known to gamers for being behind both games Tom Clancy’s The Division. Opened, it is still said very quickly, as it is only a cinematic trailer, of course, very beautiful.
The publisher apparently has more presentation content in store for this title at its upcoming Ubisoft Forward conference.
Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty
remind you Cyberpunk 2077An adaptation of the famous paperback role-playing game created by Mike Pondsmith, Cyberpunk 2020 is an open-world narrative RPG set in the night city metropolis. The game follows the story of V, a rising mercenary world inhabited by cyber-enhanced street warriors, tech-savvy networks and corporate hackers. The game world has also expanded since the spin off series Cyberpunk Edgerunners on Netflix.
It cannot be said that the game developed by the Polish studio CD Projekt Red came out pretty badly damaged at the end of 2020. Colossal sales success: As of October 2022, the title has sold over 20 million copies.
After the prize of war that was Keanu Reeves, who appears in the game as the character Johnny Silverhand, they made way for Idris Elba, who will appear in the upcoming expansion, which is expected on September 26: Phantom Liberty.
In this expansion, players once again assume the role of mercenary cyberpunk V on a new mission to rescue the new President of the United States of America after his orbital shuttle crashes in the night city’s deadliest neighborhood—Dogtown.
Then there’s the deep dive into a complex history of espionage and political intrigue that entwines the highest echelons of power and the brutal world of black market mercenaries. The stakes are high, and so is the reward—your survival.
While the E3 show may be buried (and not ready to resurface…), publisher conferences and announcements are packed this month of June. You can find some Sony Playstation announcements here; And the Summer Game Festival announcements here, including the first images of the highly anticipated Final Fantasy VII Rebirth.
