Superman & Lois: Good and bad news for fans of the series

Good news! After months of uncertainty, Superman & Lois has finally been renewed for a 4th season by The CW. The superhero series, hosted by Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth Tulloch, will be eligible for a new burst of episodes, though it will be reduced as only 10 episodes have been ordered (versus the usual 13).

Superman & Lois becomes the last remaining DC production on the CW, which a few years ago was still full of adaptations of famous comic books.

Last January, James Gunn and Peter Safran, the presidents of DC Studios, informed fans of their plans for the series and said they wanted to bid again. One or two seasons” to fiction. The plans they implemented, while the company will gradually change its approach to television projects.

Because if Superman & Lois is renewed for a 4th season, its days are numbered. James Gunn and Peter Safran have indeed taken advantage and announced movies and series that mark the start of “Chapter 1” of the DCU. And one such film is Superman: Legacy, which is scheduled for 2025, where the new actor will switch to the suit of steel for the man.

Gunn and Safran want DC’s new projects to be connected, so it would make it difficult, if not impossible, for two Supermen to coexist in the same universe. The arrival of Superman: Legacy will probably spell the death of Tyler Hoechlin’s version.

Alongside the renewal of Superman & Lois , The CW also announced a Season 3 order for All American: Homecoming , an All American spin-off that will return for Season 6 at the beginning of the next school year.

Canceled by Gotham Knights

The CW also announced that it did not want to continue the adventures of Gotham Knights. The series, created by the three writers of Batwoman (Cad Fiveash, James Stoteraux and Natalie Abrams), respectively, will end at the end of its first season, which will air its final episode on June 27 in the United States.

This yet-to-be-published-in-France fiction, which follows Bruce Wayne’s adopted son who decides to forge a dubious alliance with the sons of Batman’s enemies, has fallen victim to the CW’s new economic model, which hasn’t just been renewed. Several series this season.
