Julia Duailibi will make headlines on her own as now ex-partner Tiago Eltz joins Mônica Waldvogel in place of Cecília Flesch
The GloboNews management took advantage of the farewell of Cecília Flesch – fired after criticizing and making fun of the channel in the podcast ‘É Noia Minha? – promote a small restyling.
In his place, at the helm of ‘Em Ponto’, there will be Mônica Waldvogel, until then commentator on the channel’s main news programmes, and Tiago Eltz, who is leaving ‘GloboNews Mais’.
He has presented the evening show together with Julia Duailibi (ex ‘Em Ponto’) since its debut in August 2022. The duo has never shown a strong rapport in front of the cameras, but handled the lack of affinity with discretion.
At first, the presenter interacted more with the commentator and friend Octavio Guedes than with her partner on the bench. There was a distinct lack of liaison with Eltz, a newcomer to covering national politics after years as a New York correspondent.
Now, Julia is alone on the news. She is one of the best anchors on TV. She has never lost her soul as a reporter. She conducts live polls and always provides “scoops” (first hand news) to the viewer.
Mônica Waldvogel has a similar profile and should join ‘Em Ponto’ with hot information early in the morning. Cecilia Flesch didn’t. Her greatest merit was the good humor she inserted in some moments of the news.
In May, GloboNews saw Jovem Pan News fall just 5 places behind Ibope. After a long period of tepid journalism, the Rio de Janeiro broadcaster is starting to move so as not to run the risk of its leadership being threatened by the Bolsonarists’ favorite channel.
