According to the former minister’s advice, the lady would have choked on a fish bone while having lunch at the table next to the former minister. After her help, she resumed breathing normally. The woman has not been identified.
Roma arrived in the government of former president Jair Bolsonaro during the ministerial reform of February 2021. In the Ministry of Citizenship, he assumed the post that belonged to the former deputy Lorenzoni onyxtransferred at the time to the General Secretariat of the Presidency.
A lawyer by training and businessman, Roma was the chief of staff of the Salvador mayor’s office, during the administration of Net ACM, then president of the DEM. After five years in office, he was elected to his first term as a federal deputy in 2018.
In the 2022 election, Rome broke with its former political godfather and allied with Bolsonaro. The former minister has faced ACM Neto in the dispute over the government of Bahia. The final vote was more in favor of the former mayor of Salvador, who obtained 3.3 million votes and went to the runoff, while Rome finished third, with 738,000 votes. Whoever won the election, however, was Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva’s candidate, Jerônimo Rodrigues.
