The Senate Ethics Council continues the proceedings against the government leader and 5 other senators

The president of the Senate Ethics Council, Jayme Campos (União-MT), proceeded this Wednesday with the procedures presented against five senators, including the head of government in Congress, Randolfe Rodrigues (Rede-AP), Agência Senado reported. .

However, the hearing of the representation against Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ), son of former President Jair Bolsonaro, has been postponed until next week.

Randolfe, Cid Gomes (PDT-CE), Styvenson Valentim (Podemos-RN) and Jorge Kajuru (PSB-GO) are the targets of six complaints granted this Wednesday by the president of the college, two of which related to Kajuru.

The complaints are presented in cases considered less serious, informed Agência Senado, and can involve a warning or a censure of the parliamentarian.

The case against the head of government was presented in 2021 by former deputy Daniel Silveira (PTB-RJ), believing that Randolfe would have violated parliamentary decorum by accusing, in a video posted on the internet, the then president Jair Bolsonaro of corruption and negligence. in dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic. The complaint will have Senator Omar Aziz (PSD-AM) as rapporteur.

The prime minister also accepted a complaint against Senator Chico Rodrigues (PSB-RR), based on a petition filed in 2020 by the Rede Sustentabilidade and Cidadania parties, on the grounds that the MP had tried to obstruct the Police investigation Federal on the transfer of funds to fight the Covid-19 pandemic. The case rapporteur will be Senator Renan Calheiros (MDB-AL).

Representations are presented in the most serious cases and can ultimately lead to the temporary or definitive loss of the mandate.

The decision of the President of the Ethics Council to go ahead with the procedures was based on the positions of the Senate Advocacy.

The analysis of the case involving Senator Flávio Bolsonaro – a petition filed in 2020 by PT, PSOL and Rede citing prosecutorial investigations that would link the MP to militias and improbables – has been postponed because it still has no opinion from the l ‘Advocacy of the Senate, informed the agency of the Chamber.
