It’s a story as old as the universe… Screenwriters of detective series have a disturbing tendency to play with the audience’s emotions by creating an ambiguous love between its two main characters.
And it is not the authors of HPI who will be able to say the opposite. Morgan Alvaro (Audrey Fleurot) and Karadek (Mehdi Nebibu) have been dating for almost three years and have always missed each other a little.
In the second season finale, the two characters shared a passionate kiss, hinting that they would end up together. Unfortunately, at the start of Season 3, which is currently airing on TF1, viewers discovered that in addition to not acting on their feelings, Morgan and Karadek have completely stopped talking to each other.
The police officer really preferred to focus on his relationship with Roxanne (Clotilda Hesme), leaving aside his feelings for the consultant. “These are heroes who will spend their lives missing each other.”, Mehdi Nebu explained to Allociné about the relationship between Morgan and Karadek. “It’s a kind of tango in writing. We don’t really look at each other, but we dance together“.
Should Morgan and Karadek end up together?
At the end of HPI Season 3 Episode 6, which airs this Thursday, June 15 at 9:10pm on TF1, Morgan and Karadek finally find themselves both single at the same time. The Red Tornado was indeed shot down by Timothy, and the commander chose to end his relationship with Roxanne.
The latter then suggests to Morgan that they meet again in three months to see where their feelings are. And if fans are already happy to see their two favorite characters, Mehdi Nebibu, finally get together, he doesn’t share their enthusiasm, as he told us.
“There is a loving friendship between them. A friendship that turns into love in spite of itself. And I think it’s great. We often confuse friendship with love. Friendship is also love. Sometimes love isn’t friendship, and that’s how it should be.”
However, Mehdi Nebibu does not deny that Morgane and Karadek have an inseparable bond. “They have great tenderness and love for each other. They have one thing in common: they are insecure and feel quite alone. Aren’t these the perfect ingredients for a friendship, even more than a love story?”
“I think as a couple, both of them, it won’t last long. Behind all this is fantasy and it must remain fantasy. If this happened, the idealization of this love would disappear. And maybe things are much more mundane. Anyway, I see them more as friends than a couple.“.
It remains to be seen if the writers share Mehdi Nebibu’s opinion… The answer in the next episodes of HPI season 3 promises to be eventful for Morgan, as he still finds himself in a case that could cost his life. .
