Bruna Marquezine and Susan Sarandon star in Besouro Azul, the first DC film with a Latin protagonist
From Globo soap operas to Hollywood blockbusters: Bruna Marquezine is now an international movie star. However, this does not stop the Duque de Caxias actress from feeling nervous on the set. Blue Beetle (2023), film by A.Dwhere she plays the protagonist’s romantic interest.
“The first day in the studio I was agitated, nervous. O angel [Manuel Soto, diretor] is a guy who makes me feel very at home, has always been extremely kind and sweet to me, and reassured me,” revealed marquezine in an interview with Marie Claire.

I don’t think we gain anything by trying to pretend to be strong and well all the time.” In Blue Beetle, marquezine works with other well-known names, such as the veteran Susan Sarandonwho lives the villain Victoria Kord.
Despite keeping calm when Sarandon spoke to her, marquezine couldn’t hold back the tears right away: “I was recording and she came to say hi. I pretended total custom, but when she left I went to my trailer, and cried.” In addition, the actress stressed the importance of being proud of the projects she does today, after even thinking about giving up on her career.
“I like to get emotional. I learned that we have to value everything that lives and stop this nonsense of ‘it’s not a big deal.’ It’s too much, yes. The girl who was born in Duque de Caxias never thought she would experience this and now she can learn from Susan Sarandon? I can’t believe I got here. Girl, look how stuck up, I’m unbearable.”
