Lady Gaga has announced that the “Chromatica” album tour will win a theatrical release. The singer shared the news with her 55 million followers on Friday (6/16). The publication featured a long emotional text by the artist, which detailed the creative process of the project and she declared herself very enthusiastic about the novelty.
“I ran my startup Haus Labs, did philanthropic work, and on top of that I worked on editing the film ‘The Chromatica Ball’,” he revealed. “Here is a photo of my editing work on the film ‘The Chromatica Ball’ (there is a still from the film behind me) – can’t wait for you to see it.”
The film will show “The Chromatica Ball Tour” concert taped at Dodger Stadium, Los Angeles, where the singer performed to an audience of over 52,000, who were notified of the taping. On Twitter, Gaga even commented that around 30 cameras were in charge of filming the show, which took place in September 2022.
The tour had a mega production
The tour accompanied the release of the singer’s sixth album, ‘Chromatica’ which was released in May 2020. Due to the pandemic, the album’s promotional activities had to be postponed. With that, the singer announced a shorter tour, with 15 stops around the world, which didn’t include Brazil. The shows took place between July and September 2022, more than two years after the project launched.
At the moment, the singer shared an excited message about getting back on stage. “I am incredibly grateful to everyone who has worked with me to build this show and helped me express a vision of freedom and joy through music, dance, fashion, art and technology. I never thought that I would have been on a stage like this again. I will never forget all the hard work we put in as a team,” he wrote on Instagram.
The show brought together a repertoire that included album tracks with classic hits like “Born This Way,” “Bad Romance,” and “Just Dance.” The tour also featured a mega-production combining pyrotechnic displays and conceptual set design. The costumes also drew attention, ranging from a gold ensemble to bold looks with leather pants, as well as an alien helmet to accompany one of the songs.
The concert film does not yet have a release date.
