12 Minutes was previewed to the public at the Annecy International Animated Film Festival, which is currently taking place. On stage, studio co-founder Peter Lord, producer Leila Hobart and director Sam Fell revealed some scoop.
Titled The Menace of the Nuggets, this sequel finds its main characters 12 years after the events of the first film. Ginger and Rocky – voiced by Thandiwe Newton and Zachary Levy – now live on an island paradise and have a child, Molly – Bella Ramsey. Unfortunately, a new threat threatens the chickens, and Molly dreams of discovering the outside world, even if it means putting herself at risk.
For this second part, the creators revealed that they were inspired by the world of James Bond and, more surprisingly, this new version of Ginger would be closer to Ripley – played by Sigourney Weaver – in James Cameron’s Aliens. the entire program.
Two years later, new virtual reality technology was used to create sets on set. Chicken Run: Menace of the Nuggets was filmed in a huge studio the size of four football fields.
