The Last Airbender: What will Netflix’s Avatar look like, one of the platform’s most anticipated series?

Teaser and first promotional photos: We finally know what Netflix’s version of Avatar: The Last Airbender will look like (via ComingSoon ). A new video and exclusive photos were indeed released during this weekend’s TUDUM event, showing a preview of the upcoming series.

water. Earth. fire. Aerial. Netflix’s Avatar: The Last Airbender will be released in 2024“, we read in the presentation text of the program.

At the helm of the Netflix series, we can find Albert Kim (Sleeping Hollow) as showrunner, screenwriter and executive producer. In a personal letter to fans of the series, he emphasized the importance of authenticity and representation, as well as the enormous responsibility of the project to showcase a story that features Asian and Indigenous characters.

Based on Nickelodeon’s beloved animated series Avatar: The Last Airbender, the live-action show will star Filipino-Canadian actor Gordon Cormier (The Stand) as Aang. Chiaventio (with Anna E) will star as Katara with Ian Ousley (Physical, 13 Reasons Why) as Sokka and Dallas Liu (Shang-Chi and The Legend of the Ten Rings, PEN15) as Zuko. They are joined by Daniel Dae Kim (Lost) as Fire Lord Ozai, Paul Sun-Hyun Lee (The Mandalorian, The Boba Fett Book) as Uncle Iroh, Lim Kay Siu (Anna and the King) as Gyato, and Ken Leung (lost) will dedicate his properties to Commander Zhao.
