“Percy Jackson and the Olympians”: shooting of the new Disney + series is underway

Disney + announced on Thursday (2) the start of filming on “Percy Jackson and the Olympians,” a new streaming series based on the works of Rick Riordan. Also directed by the author, there are high expectations under the new show, which is sure to be very faithful to the books – this is what fans expect.

Riordan also wanted to speak and, posting a photo of the director’s chair, joked: “Excuse me, is anyone sitting here?”. The Percy Jackson and the Olympians book series has a total of five books and has been on the New York Times bestseller list since the first book was published in 2005.

According to information from collider, the first season will be inspired by the book The Lightning Thief and will have eight episodes. Live main character will be Walker Sobell, who made his screen debut with Ryan Reynolds in Netflix’s “Project Adam”. Alongside him, Aryan Simhadri and Leah Sava Jeffries complete the famous trio of demigods. New names have also been announced in the adult cast, including Virginia Kull, Glynn Turman, Jason Mantzoukas, Megan Mullally, and Timm Sharp.
