Camelot Film: Will there be a longer version? Alexander Astie answers

Can the first part of the “Camelot” trilogy, which was released in cinemas last July, enjoy a longer version? During a digital meeting organized by Fnac, Alexandre Astie replied to his fans.

Last July, in the first part of Alexander Astie’s long-awaited trilogy, King Arthur returned to the big screen after a decade of absence. Especially expected by the fans, this sequel to the Camelot series was received very warmly in the cinema and will soon be continued through two more episodes.

But in anticipation of the new adventures of the Round Table Knights, can we hope to one day discover a long version of this first feature film? On that dayDigital meeting with his fans Organized by Fnac last December, Astier was able to answer this specific question:

“This long version can exist, yes. It can exist one day, really”He said. “On the other hand, this long version is not cut scenes. Yes, it should be one. But it is first and foremost an enrichment of what already exists. Maybe from time to time more strings, more details, more nonsense.”

Arthur’s filmmaker and translator went on to respond by saying that certain temporary ellipses in the film, which are sometimes viewed very quickly by a section of the public, were completely voluntary. Indeed, Astie convinced his fans that he had not received pressure from the studios to cut out this or that sequence.

“I posted a two-hour version because it’s dynamic because it has a kick”He assured. “It’s going fast because in two hours, Arthur’s trip is really rich. He travels from the depths of Arabia to arrive in his own country, passing through all his former classes, Aquitaine, Angers, Gaunes, and so on. A bit dense, because a lot has to be said about what happens and what should have happened in his 10-year absence, so he definitely gets a dense film.

As for this famous long version that fans are hoping for, Astieri So it seems to him to be quite favorable, but proves the fact that he will not be there to fill in any gaps:

“The long version will be, in my opinion, quite tasty, because it will add two or three things, which is not bad. But by no means will it correct what you think is too short. If you find it too short, it’s too short I did it, that’s all.” .
