Is the Mission: Impossible saga really coming to an end? Split into two parts, hitting theaters next July 12 and then June 26, 2024, Dead Reckoning looks set to be the final adventure for Ethan Hunt, the character played by Tom Cruise since 1996.
It was never officially announced. But the fact that the opus was in two parts (like Harry Potter or Twilight before it) and the return of a character from the first episode (Eugene Kittridge, played by Henry Cherny) gave the film the appearance of a loop that comes full circle. If no.

It’s hot from Rome! Director Christopher McQuarrie Fandango is told that Dead Reckoning parts 1 and 2 will not be the end of the saga and that they already have ideas for a sequel.
Is this a bluff meant to stall the ending of Mission: Impossible 8? Or to prepare us for the fact that, like his character, Tom Cruise isn’t going to stop running around and doing crazy stunts when the saga celebrates its 30th anniversary in 2026?
Regardless, we still have two more movies from the franchise in theaters this summer and next year. And it is in June 2024 that we will know whether the Mission: Impossible saga will be destroyed forever.
