Eve closes deals for the potential sale of up to 150 eVTOLs

Electric aircraft maker Eve, controlled by Embraer, said on Tuesday it has signed letters of intent for possible sales of its “flying machine” to Voar Aviation, Nordic Aviation and Wideroe Zero.

The new deals, announced during the Paris Airshow, include the possible purchase of 70 electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) vehicles from Voar, up to 30 aircraft from Nordic and up to 50 from Wideroe.

Eve, which holds about 2,800 orders before starting production, recently completed wind tunnel testing for the vehicle and expects to begin commercial operations in 2026.

Under the new arrangements, Eve said in a statement, Voar will operate its eVTOLs in Brazil’s major metropolitan areas and popular tourist destinations, such as São Paulo, Florianópolis and Salvador.

Nordic will take 15 firm orders plus 15 optional eVTOLs that will be leased to fleet operators, the company added, while Norway’s Wideroe aims to launch “flying car” operations in the Scandinavian region.

Wideroe, parent company of Wideroe Zero, is already an Embraer customer for conventional jets, currently having three E190-E2 aircraft in its fleet. Its low-carbon propulsion means that all domestic short-haul flights are electric, as part of Norway’s goal to achieve carbon-neutral aviation by 2040.
