Strike effect: Marvel cancels panel at Comic-Con 2023

Following its success at San Diego Comic-Con 2022, Marvel has decided to cancel its traditional panel at this year’s event, reports The Wrap. The reason, according to the gringo portal, would be the pause of several productions due to the ongoing screenwriters’ strike, which has left the studio without news and with a conditioned schedule.

Among the crippled Marvel films are lightning, Lama, Daredevil: Born Again AND magnums.

Although some projects were not affected, such as Captain America: Brave New World (May 2024), Deadpool 3 (November 2024) e Agatha: Coven of Chaosgiven the connected nature of most Marvel movies and series, the strike could have a pretty large knock-on effect on the franchises.

In an update, Wrap added that SAG-AFTRA may order a strike anytime after the current contract with Hollywood studios expires on June 30.

San Diego Comic-Con 2023 will take place between July 20 and 23.
