James Mangold, director of Logan, is not thrilled with the announcement of the return of Wolverine in Deadpool 3
the return of Wolverine interpreted by Hugh Jackman seems to have excited fans of the character. James Mangolddirector of Logan (2017), however, do not share the same sentiment.
In an interview with Variety (via Omelet), the filmmaker admitted that he preferred his film to mark the end of the long journey of jackman with the hero: “I can’t say there’s a part of me that didn’t want them to leave that way. But there will always be another Wolverine. could be a Wolverine baby, or a Wolverine cartoon. They will squeeze this lemon as much as possible.”
Wolverine will be back on the big screen in Deadpool 3, which is scheduled for release in 2024. The announcement was made through a humorous video with the presence of Ryan Reynolds.
Despite the disappointment, James Mangold he added: “I don’t measure my success in a movie like Logan by whether or not I closed the subject. I made my ending.”
