Corinthians is negotiating the transfer of Pedro to Zenit from Russia. According to the “GE” portal, talks between the clubs for the forward’s transfer have been underway since last month and there is optimism on both sides for the conclusion of the deal. The values are kept confidential.
At the beginning of the year, when he definitively sold Yuri Alberto to Corinthians, Zenit guaranteed their preference for the purchase of Pedro and intends to sign the striker soon. Also according to “GE”, the striker will move to Russia in 2024, when he will be 18 years old.
At first, the expectation is that Timão will sell part of the player’s rights and still keep a slice. The amount, paid in cash, will serve to settle the club’s debts and avoid the “transfer ban”, which prevents Corinthians from registering new athletes.
The relationship between Corinthians and Zenit is increasingly close. It all started in the middle of last year when the Brazilian club secured the loan of Yuri Alberto. In return, he sent striker Gustavo Mantuan and goalkeeper Ivan to the Russians.
