‘I felt really disappointed’: Shy’m recalls the sudden end of the profile series

After ten seasons of tracking the worst psychopaths, the TF1 detective series Profiling unknowingly bowed in August 2020 at the end of the season 10 finale, which ended with the dramatic death of one of the protagonists, but was not necessarily written as a series conclusion.

Although season 11 was officially set by TF1, Philippe Bass, Commander Rocher’s interpreter, announced in February 2021 that profiling would cease. To the dismay of fans, who were certainly hoping for a rapprochement between the policeman and Elisa Bergman, a psycho-criminologist played by Tamara Marte, aka Shim, joined the adventure in this tenth season, replacing Juliet. Rudette (Adele).

Presented at the Monte Carlo TV Festival earlier in the week to promote the Cannes Confidential Series, Shy’m returned to our microphone for a profile cancellation that clearly wasn’t easy for her. Even if the actor and singer admits that the difficult transmission of the 10th season, in full lockdown, did not make it easy for the series.

A “disappointing” cancellation for Eliza’s translator

“It was a little bit special because Season 10 was broadcast in the middle of Covid, in a pretty sparse fashion. There were a few episodes, then we waited a long time to see the rest, it was difficult. was in prison, it was quite strange”admits Elisa’s interpreter, before explaining that she wanted to continue to explore her character more.

“When the end of the series was announced, we had finished filming a long time ago, so I was no longer in the dynamic of that filming. But of course I was disappointed because I had a great relationship with Philip Bass, I loved it first of all. The experience”.

“I wanted to come back right away because I felt like the closer I got to the last episode, the more I could express myself, the more I could let go and show things, and the more we met Elisa. person So I felt real frustration, that’s normal, but above all it was to confirm that I wanted to do this work and that I was passionate about it.”.

Tamara Marthe, aka Shy’m, profiled in season 10.

According to our information, even if the audience of the series has fallen, TF1 mainly decided to terminate the profile because it was not satisfied with the texts and scenarios provided by the scriptwriters for the 11th season, which, therefore, would never be born. Data that Shaim admits he doesn’t remember very well.

“The scripting stage is always pretty difficult, for any series, because everybody needs validation, there’s a hell of a lot of back and forth. So it’s definitely a bit difficult.”The actor admits. “Honestly, I don’t remember what happened at the time. But after Covid, all the channels cooled down a bit, they all went back to more classic formats, so it wasn’t time to take any chances.”.

Shy’m is back on TF1 soon with Lucy Lucas (Clam)

In the coming weeks or months, Shy’m will return to TF1 as a cast member of Cannes Confidential, an international co-production that was shot on the Croisette last year and premiered last April at the Canneseries.

This detective series, which also stars Lucy Lucas (Clem) and Jamie Bamber (Battlestar Galactica), tells the story of police lieutenants Camille Delmas and Leah Robert, who, as part of some investigation, receive help from Harry King, a mysterious British gentleman thief. Mysterious past. Who could be the only one who can help Camille clean up her father, who is dying in prison for a crime he didn’t commit?

Shy’m lends her qualities to Lea Roberts, a pretty badass cop character she describes as very different from the Elisha Bergman she played in Profile.

“Both are very different”– says Tamara Marte at our microphone. “On Profiling, Elisa was a profiler, even if she was very helpful to the police. There, with Leah, we’re on a character who’s more on the ground, more physical, who’s engaged in a fight. She has a more masculine side. , more spontaneous. I drew on my personality in different ways to interpreted them differently. Maybe Leah is a little more complicated.”.

Shaimi, who says he’s already ready for a possible season 2, seems to be excited about this new experience as an actor, especially given the opportunity to shoot in English: “The fact that it was an international project obviously appealed to me. Filming in English can be as boring as it is attractive, but with my crazy character who loves challenges, it was quite attractive. And I had a chance to discover myself. An incredible team”.
