Henry Cavill auditioned to star in 007 – Casino Royale (2006)
When Daniel Craig took tests to interpret James Bond in 007 – Casino Royale (2006), he had a strong competitor: Henry Cavill. However, the actor lost the role because of a very specific reason.
During an interview with expressthe director Martin Campbell recalled the test phases for production, which was the first of Craig in the role of the iconic spy. According to the filmmaker, Cavill he did very well in the audition, but there were certain impediments to being hired, such as age and himself Daniel Craig.
“He looked great in the audition, his acting was tremendous. Daniel did not exist, the henry would make an excellent bond,” stated Campbell in the conversation. “He looked great, he was in great physical shape…very handsome and chiseled. He looked a little young back then.”
