Did you like Spy on TF1? Then this movie might make you happy!

TF1 broadcasts Spy Tonight, an action-spy comedy starring Melissa McCarthy, Jason Statham and Jude Law. A chance to see the comedic actress and improv queen hone her skills in a film that focuses heavily on fighting. And if you enjoyed this movie, be tempted by another one in the same style, Target, available on Disney+.

In Target, FDR and Tuck are two CIA agents who are also best friends. When they learn that they are dating the same young woman, Lauren, a good-natured rivalry develops between them. But when a friendly confrontation turns into a war, all means are good to be able to set up a second offside. As for Lauren, she’s spoiled for choice (that’s right!).

Directed by McGee ( Newport Beach , Charlie and His Charlie’s Angels ), Target stars Chris Pine and Tom Hardy as agents and Reese Witherspoon as their “Target,” from the French title “Target.”

Chris Pine, Tom Hardy

We find a badass agent separated from his wife and already a father (Hardy) and a rather feminine and seductive agent (Paine). The dynamic we find in Spy is on the one hand seductive à la James Bond (Jude Law) and bad (Jason Statham).

A target is like a spy in the sense that we find agents who confront a third person who is worth much more than the straight jacket we try to categorize him in: Reese Witherspoon in one case, Melissa McCarthy in the other. Let’s give Caesar his due: Spy is inspired by Target because it came out in 2015, three years after its counterpart.

Reese Witherspoon

The two films are also signed by the same studio, Twentieth Century Fox.

The comparison stops there, as Spy and Target have different storylines, but if you liked one of them, you’ll most likely like the other!
