The documents were sent to the Court of Cassation after analyzing the first evidence seized in the first ostensive phase of the investigation, the Operation Hephaestusnamed after the Greek god of technology and metallurgy.
The PF carried out searches at 27 addresses connected to the suspects. One of them is councilor Luciano Cavalcante, assistant to Arthur Lira who had been assigned to lead the PP in the Chamber and was cleared after the operation. Officers found handwritten notes of a series of payments to “Arthur.” The records amount to around R $ 265,000, as revealed by the magazine Piauì.

TCU’s technical area said it found evidence of overbilling and pointed out that some schools didn’t even have the infrastructure and operational conditions to receive the equipment.
