The two did the breathalyzer test which highlighted the drunkenness.
Late Saturday evening two motorists were arrested after a road accident in the Bairro Passo D’Areia, in the locality of Santa Maria. Both were drunk and at least one of them was injured. After posting bail, they were released. The incident occurred around 10.30 pm on Rua VenĂ¢ncio Aires, near a residential apartment building.
According to the incident, police officers from the 1st Mounted Police Regiment (1st RPMon) of the Military Brigade (BM) were on patrol through the city when they were approached by a motorcyclist, who reported the incident which involved two cars. Arriving at the scene, officers found the two drivers arguing about the incident. The vehicles involved have been identified, a goal and a Palio, as well as the drivers, a 25-year-old and a 39-year-old man.
Police noticed the young man had a head injury and called the Mobile Emergency Care Service (SAMU), but he refused to receive treatment and signed a refusal notice.
Both drivers took a breathalyzer test, which indicated drunkenness. The young man’s test showed a result of 0.70 milligrams of alcohol per liter of air expelled from his lungs, while the man’s test recorded 0.81 milligrams.
