Paramount+ cancels these 4 series and will even disappear from the catalog!

This is a blow to Paramount+ subscribers. A few days ago, the platform announced the cancellation of 4 series: Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies, Star Trek: Prodigy (animation), Queen of the Universe (show) and The Game (sports series).

Those four productions are also slated to disappear from the catalog this week, as recently clarified by Paramount+ statement.

An identical strategy to the one used by Disney + and HBO recently, which allows them not to pay taxes on their productions and thus save money. The studios are also making the case for moving closer to Showtime in the United States to retool their strategy.

A statement that is struggling to move to the side of teams and developers. Many are quick to express their displeasure. Annabelle Oakes, showrunner of Grease, spoke In Instagram stories A few days ago:

If it doesn’t find a new host in the meantime, it’s nowhere to be seen. The cast, my crew and I are devastated by the demise of our serial. Thanks to all our amazing fans.

The series will continue despite its cancellation. Loved what you did, your Tiktok, fantastic… What we want now is for you to watch the series before it’s gone.

The musical series Grease: Rise of The Pink Ladies takes place four years before the film Grease, following the formation of the Pink Ladies with Rizzo, Ian, Marty and Frances.

In 1954, before the reign of rock ‘n’ roll, four rebellious misfits dare to have their own fun, sparking a moral upheaval that will change their school, Rydell High, forever. The ending heralded the imminent arrival of Danny and Sandy’s characters.

It is currently still available in France on Paramount+.
