Ethan Isidore is 16 years old and he is living the dream of everyone who grew up watching The Adventures of India: playing alongside Harrison Ford in Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, the archaeologist’s fifth and final adventure. cinema.
In the role of Ted, the French actor, discovered in Sam et Mortel and a student of the Orléans high school, is the youth activity of the film and he marked the presentation of the feature film at Cannes with his infectious enthusiasm and sincerity. festival last May.
Before facing The Walking Dead’s zombies, Daryl Dixon, he returned to AlloCiné for a photo album of his Indiana Jonesesque adventure. A sequence of memories!

“Very good! This was our entrance to Cannes. We just left the airport. And there were tons of photographers taking pictures of us. It was super impressive because it’s the first time we’ve experienced this. They took photos. We were a little surprised with the family. We weren’t particularly comfortable at first, but it’s actually pretty funny.”

“We just went up the stairs in Cannes. It was an incredible moment and it’s hard for me to describe the emotion it gives us because we still feel very ‘strong’ because we’re on the stairs and there’s this whole crowd of people cheering us on. And watching us. I couldn’t speak… It was a great experience because I was joining the team. I haven’t had it in two years. I saw it. It was so exciting to see them walking up the stairs again. It’s indescribable. I’ve been living a real dream. So thank you Cannes, thank you Disney and thank you Indiana Jones.”

“It was in Cannes Harrison Ford. I took it in my hand. In fact, we were talking at the time. Harrison looked at me and said: “See the excitement you feel there for Cannes? It’s the same feeling Ke Hui Quan did in Temple of Doom. And look where he is now. He’s got an Oscar.”. And that really warmed my heart. So I hugged him because Ke Hui Quan is a crescent moon! And now he starred in the movie “everything everywhere at once … so to receive such compliments from Harrison Ford is only nice.”

“It was down the stairs. I was with Harrison and we were just hugging and next to him we see Mads Mikkelsen, who’s also a great guy. It’s pretty funny because he speaks French. What can’t he do? It’s crazy! (laughs) James Mangold next to Mads Everyone was very nice, and I also remember Boyd Holbrook telling me: “Enjoy it now, it’s your time. It only happens once in a lifetime” And that surprised me. From that moment I started jumping, running on the red carpet!

“We just finished our screening with Phoebe Waller-Bridge. Because we both have a special check as true criminals. We challenged ourselves to do it on the red carpet. She asked me for something very nice: a handshake. Steps. She could have asked someone else, Harrison Ford. But no, he asked me, Teddy, because I’m his personal assistant in crime! (laughs)
The chemistry between the two of us came pretty quickly. First time I saw her with makeup. He started talking to me. He was very nice, very welcoming, very attentive, he asked me how I got there and how James Mangold noticed me. He told me that when he read the script, he popped the champagne and cried. And that it was he who arranged for us to see each other at the same time during the make-up, because he wanted to meet me to talk, because we are very close in the film. she is very beautiful. He’s one of the best people I’ve ever met.”

“It’s a photocall in Cannes after climbing the stairs. It was very impressive because there are so many photographers shouting. “Harrison, Harrison, Harrison, Phoebe, Phoebe, Mads, Mads!!!” But at the same time, it’s a little funny. There are crowds of people repeating the same names and there are some kind of flash fireworks. Impressive and quite funny. And that’s when you realize how strong Harrison is. We’re all super impressed and there it is on “Monday…” (laughs)

“Then I could also jump with my palms on the table. This is a challenge that I set with my friends and I took it. I am very proud! Whoever challenged me, I did it. What are you going to do now?” (laughs)

“This is my high school. Pothiers High School in Orleans, which is a great high school that allows you to choose and major in film. The option is available sophomore and then from freshman to senior year, you can. I’m majoring in film for undergrad and it’s pretty cool and no, not with school I’m a partner to say! (Laughs) The first time I told my friends I was in Indiana Jones, just believe me. Except the pictures got leaked. And because I have some cinephile friends, they were following the news and knew.

“It’s a great poster. I love it because I’m already on it. (laughs) And I’m on it Phoebe Waller Bridge and Harrison FordSo I’m even happier. I think it’s great because there are all the elements that make us love a movie. In the bottom right corner is a Tuk Tuk scene that I love. And there are plenty of scenes that will be quite pivotal in the film. Plus we see Indy with his whip. But how sexy this guy is! (laughs)”

“This is a character poster for Ted. We shot this shot at Pinewood Studios and I was wondering what it would look like and why they were going to use it. And I’m so happy because I have a character poster. “Indiana Jones, where I’m the only one on it! It’s so elegant. I’m very proud.”

“This is the scene where Teddy has his first discussion other than confronting Indy. The scene is very well written. It shows the relationship between the two characters and also the gap between the two: Teddy is young and trying to play grown-up. When Indy is old and trying to be young through this adventure back. I think the contrast and juxtaposition between the two is quite nice in this scene, and it captures the atmosphere, a bit nostalgic, of the film.”

“It was one of the first scenes I shot in Sicily. I already loved that scene because I had a hat. Everyone had a hat, Phoebe, Harrison and I. I was very happy because I had my little Indiana Jones hat, even. If the straw was a little damaged The hat. I think it fits the character well. We were in front of the cathedral, it was glorious, warm.. The extras were so beautiful. Everyone was dressed like they were in the 60s. You can believe me! This is one of the first scenes I played alone. Actually, it made me feel a little weird. , because “there was a lot of excess and the camera was on me. It was a bit overwhelming at first, especially for such a big movie, and then I thought about Harrison, who does this almost every day. I said to myself: “Ah, yes, I should too!”.

“That scene on the boat was shot in two parts. The part on the sea in Sicily. And some close shots on the boat reproduced in the studio, which is incredibly shot, like all the scenes in this movie, it was quite funny. Because the boat in the studio was bigger than Sicily! It was a bit strange because we were like We had reflexes like in Sicily, except it wasn’t the same staircase at all. It was a great scene to shoot. (. . .) I shot on the sea with Antonio Bandera. He’s a very nice guy and very funny. I thought it was impressive that I could do all the cinema Working with this icon. Antonio is one of them and it was a pleasure to work with him. I was able to take little Spanish lessons with him…which I didn’t keep! (laughs) But it was a great experience.”

“That scene on the plane is important to the character. It was quite exhausting because we did a lot of filming. And a few weeks later they called us and said, ‘We forgot the footage’! But I’m really happy that I was there. Can see the climax of this scene, a little tuk tuk, Because this is a scene that we worked on a lot. Also, Harrison gave me advice on how to fly the plane in this scene. I can say that I had advice Harrison Ford Fly by plane! We shot this scene twice. in Sicily and in the studio. We had a real plane brought out by the technicians in Sicily. And then in the studio it was kind of a simulator: a bit like a roller coaster, except I was getting paid to do it. I didn’t pay to go to Disney, which is cool!” (laughs)

“It was the premiere in Los Angeles. It was an incredible moment. I got to see the film and it was a little different from Cannes because this time the fans were invited. It was great to be able to meet them, to be able to talk to them and paint faces for all these costumed fans . It was great because there was a real reaction to the movie in the room. You felt the emotion that the fans were feeling in that moment. It was one of my most beautiful experiences in cinema, I think.”
“This is amazing. First time in my life to see John Williams in concert. This man is a genius. He knows how to write music for movies. And he always does it well. “He always writes. Music is a symbol. I don’t know how he does it. I admire him. And I was able to meet him. It was one of the most beautiful moments of my life, I think. And I met Spielberg and Lucas. It’s impressive because we think that everything we’ve seen, our entire childhood is partly based on these people. It’s crazy to think I got to meet all these pop culture gods!”

“This is the poster of Au Revoir Tom Selleck by Ridwan Bellavel and it was my first project. It was my first short film. I shot it in Pantin in 2018 and it’s great memories. Thanks to it I was able to introduce myself. After the film I was able to play Indiana Jones. There’s also Dali Bensalah in this movie and who would later play James Bond at the same studio, also at Pinewood. And it’s funny that we played both. Very similar sagas! And then you should know that Tom Selleck was the first choice to play Indiana Jones, except That he couldn’t shoot because he already had a contract with Magnum. Harrison Ford A star has arrived in Indiana Jones. It’s funny that the movie title for my first role is named after the guy who was supposed to play Indiana Jones!
