If T-Rex feared the streets of San Diego in the 1997 release of The Lost World, Colin Trevor insisted on a more realistic approach, with dinosaurs as ordinary animals rather than bloodthirsty beasts.
A more realistic approach
He explains to the magazine Total movie : “I know there is something in all of us – perhaps an inner child – that imagines dinosaurs accidentally running through the city streets, eating people, colliding with each other in cars … but a more realistic approach was important to me.. “

The filmmaker, who re-launched the cult saga created by Steven Spielberg in 2015, specifies that the chase scene we see in the trailer where Owen (Chris Pratt) tries to escape from the atrocities is an exception.
He explains: “There is a sequence where dinosaurs are everywhere in the city, in Malta. But they did not come here of their own free will. In the film, Malta is the epicenter of the dinosaurs’ underground black market. This is where they are imported and exported, bought and sold.
