If Gosling is the main Kenyan in Greta Gerwig’s film, there are many other Kenyans in the feature film: Simu Liu, Kingsley Ben-Adre, Nkuti Gatwa, John Cena or Scott Evans.

It follows: “Nobody cared about that before. Ken’s job is a beach, it’s not a job! But for 60 years, nobody cares. But suddenly, it’s like we’ve been caring about Ken all this time.
No, you didn’t care about him. never do
No, you didn’t care about him. never do this is a problem. If you really cared about Ken, you knew that no one did. Your hypocrisy is therefore exposed. That is why his story must be told.“
Gosling adds with a laugh:Now I’m interested in this guy. I am his representative. Ken couldn’t come to accept this award, so I’m here to accept it..”
“Ken is probably the funniest and saddest toy at the same time”
Greta Gerwigwho also wrote the film with partner Noah Baumbach, explains that they tried to strike a delicate balance with Ken:
“It has to be funny because it’s a puppet movie, but it also has to be full of pain and pathos because, well… it’s a puppet movie. And Kenny, who is just a jerk, is probably the funniest and saddest.“

Barbie
The director then explains that he chose Ryan Gosling because he completely identified with the character. “Ryan is never out of character. He does not comment or judge the person he portrays. He’s not trying to tell you that Ryan Gosling knows it’s bullshit. He interprets the character in such a way as to allow him to possess all the latter’s potential humiliations.’
This explains why the actor takes this controversy to heart and decides to respond to age-shamed fans.
