The second film in the current reboot of Mortal combat is already being recorded right now. The information comes from a post on Instagram by one of the main actors of the feature film, Ludi Lin, responsible for the interpretation of the character Liu Kang in the new adaptation of the games for the cinema.

The publication is short and, unlike many shots, does not hide which production it is intended for. This is evident from the photo of the actor Ludi Lin on his Instagram, which shows the clapperboard with the controller for the beginning of a scene in the film. The clapperboard image also reveals something already known officially, namely the presence of Simon McQuoid in directing the film. He’s the same director responsible for the 2021 feature film, marking a reboot of the film series that started off weird in the ’90s and got lost more and more with each adaptation.

Even with a hostile history, Mortal combat of 2021 has managed to attract attention for several reasons. One of them was right in the trailer where the main fight, played correctly in the film, centered around archenemies Scorpion and Sub-Zero. The duo was so important to the production that they appeared on the main poster for the feature film.
Mortal Combat II does not yet have a release date, but the production is entrusted to James Wan, name present in the drafting of aquaman AND Deadly gamesin addition to the direction of Fast and furious 7. The script has the creators of the game and are Ed Boon and John Tobias, along with Jeremy Slater. The latter wrote some episodes and The Umbrella Academy AND knight of the moon.
In the cast we have Martyn Ford as Shao Kahn, almost confirmed Karl Urban as Johnny Cage, Jessica McNamee as Sonya Blade, Max Huang as Kung Lao and one of the newcomers is CJ Bloomfield behind the heavy makeup to give life to the bizarre Baraka.
